Stranger In A Strange Land

Contributed by Fwog on Monday, 21st October 2002 @ 10:30:00 PM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

One day for me the train of peace
Will come and give my soul release,
On wings of fire and steel she'll come
Inspired from a strangers gun.

There'll be no mourners filled with grief
For the passing of a cheat, a thief,
Whose deeds were never bold or brave
They'll lay me in a pauper's grave.

Never a part of the grander plan
I walked a stranger in this land,
Most tears I cried, I cried alone
Within structures of steel and stone.

The reject of a mothers' hand
I stood and made a rebels stand,
No Sunday morning Christian I
I lived I laughed, too soon I'll die.

And for me there are no regrets
lifes cards were dealt I took all bets,
I've known the fury of the beast
I've dined with kings, enjoyed the feast.

One day I'll hear from up on high
An angel say you're time is nigh,
Prepare yourself for peace and rest
I'll guide you through your final test.
