I open my jewelry box
I look inside
Sitting alone
A ring catches my eye
I'll never forget the day we met
I'll never forget the words you said
I'll never forget my exact reply
I'll never forget the date we set
I was a fool to say no
This I'm sure you already know
I wish I could take it back
I'm tired of these emotional attacks
I would love to hear you ask me again
It would really help my heart to mend
How I would love to spend my life with you
To you I say this with love & words so true

Hindsight can be a harsh taskmaster. This is a lovely piece of work.
