Princess In Love

Contributed by pixie on Saturday, 26th June 2004 @ 12:32:07 PM in AEST
Topic: fantasy

She brushes her long golden hair,
Fixes her prince with a loving stare,
Wishes their love wasn’t a dark secret,
She didn’t know how if she could keep it.

She used to daydream about running away,
Finding a secluded place they could stay,
Instead of going through this pain,
But she kept her silence in vain.

Her heart was in love, but still hung low,
For she keep it locked up for no-one to know,
Why was their love so forbidden,
Why couldn’t a blessing be given?

At night she’d cry into her hands,
Whilst looking out over the forest lands,
Hoping & wishing upon a star,
That her true love would go far.

They are together in her dreams,
In sleep the can be free, or so it seems,
This is a secret never to be told,
To be protected & never let unfold.

I have to echo the sentiments of others on this one.
A fairytale quality to it, but maybe it isn't only fairytales where secret loves exist

Thats sad that it's a secret... I've had a couple of those, and they never end well...

Great poem, though...
