Leaving Home

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Soon I will be leaving home,
Me & Mark are getting a place on our own,
I feel quite upset to be leaving Mum & Dad,
Although in the same breath I am glad.

I won稚 be moving too far away,
So I値l be able to pop in from day to day,
For a brew & a good old chat,
It値l be strange walking back over the mat.

Mum said she値l feel very lonely,
That I have made our house feel homely,
With my presence & my noise,
Shared all the laughter, tears & joys.

But I know that I知 all grown up,
No longer am I a yapping, little pup,
I must spread my wings free as a bird,
There痴 much more of life I知 yet to learn.

I値l be waving a reluctant goodbye,
To the people who kept me high & dry,
For all these years they cared for me,
Now I must drop out from that tree.

I don稚 want to I知 quite scared,
But a life of our own I want to share,
I hope that Mark truly understands,
That I値l still need someone to hold my hand.

Scary, yes! Exciting, yes! Look at the new life awaiting you with Marc and all the new parts of life to love and explore and make your own. Branching out on your own is an adventure that will prove rewarding and make you much stronger.

Love,
Rita

Oh I know the feeling. I'll be leaving on a plane to a foreign country to continue my studies and that scares me more than anything. Although the door to freedom is finally wide open now, there are some jumpy nerves as well.
I hope you and Mark have a great life together.
