music has no color

Contributed by dominique on Saturday, 26th June 2004 @ 11:05:40 AM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

The affliction of my life
Is caused by ficticious strife
My problems are probably
Small
But they build a wall around my
Heart
Until I’ve lost touch with the one
Part of myself I once knew
The part that I gave to you
So I ask music to console me
To pick up my spirit and hold me
I know that r&b alone
Although poetic can’t soothe
My real life pain
And raps rhythmic words
Mostly absurd
Eventually all sound the same
Pop is too vigorous while
Rock too ambiguous and wild
Jazz puts me to sleep
While classical makes me weep
For the end drawing near
Feeding off the need to hear
Others lost expectations
Yes my black hand turns the station
To a country music song
And the thunder rolls…

I, too, turn to music when I need something to lift my spirits. But C&W depresses the he** outta me. I was raised with it. I listen to hip-hop and D12 is one of my favs. I liked this, it was good and had good rhythm. Peace to ya.
