Incredible wonder of the world and all that jazz
Spitting in the wind and making wishes
Life ain’t so bad she says with a cynical grin
You smile and shake your head but can’t agree
You only smile to please her and pretend it’s okay
Thinking she won’t notice but you’re sure she does
Put another quarter in the jukebox, play another tune
Keep dancing in smaller circles, closing in
There was never any place to go anyway
So here we are face-to-face, identical opposites
Giving each other a reason to live again
Keep hope alive that clouds are cotton candy
Let me rest my head on your shoulder
I hear your heavy sigh as we sway to the music
Lost in love’s unkindest spell, gone but not forgotten
We hold on tight all through the night
Shower me with kisses and I’ll try not to cry
Struggle with crowding memories of love that went all wrong
Then as if Fate noticed us she waved her magic wand
Showered us with love’s silver dust, put starlight in our eyes

I cant believe im the first person to comment on this poem. this is just stunning beautiful and tender with an edge of sadness.wow i just love it and relate so much it makes me want to cry because i once felt love.
