A Summer Night

Contributed by Justalady on Friday, 25th June 2004 @ 07:30:36 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

As the breeze of summer rustles the leaves,
I stand transfigured, weak in the knees.
I watch as you walk and slowly glance my way,
I pray that I know the words you will say.

You've promised me violets, and stars in the night,
The moon heard your words, they sounded so right.
But tonight it is different, I've got love on my mind;
Please say that you love me, please treat me kind.

This place in the grass is where I want to lay,
The perfect place for me to hear the words you may say.
Brush my cheek gently, place your hand in my hair,
The breeze has now stopped...we're almost there.

Do you feel the warmth of this summer night?
We're all alone, we've only the moon to show light.
I'm waiting dear one.... the time now has come,
I need to know now, am I your only one?
