Epitaph of a Dream

Contributed by ShadowDaughter on Friday, 25th June 2004 @ 03:38:39 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

her eyes besmirched by guilty dreams
that stain the flawless glass
and sigh their way down skin a-quiver,
in happily-ever-afters laced with salt
(to be interred in spirit-gashes)
murmuring down a frozen cheek,
painting the pristine flesh
in shades of kaleidoscope clear,
dabbed off with delicate tissue
and smothered into the white expanse
‘till she’s cried away
her dreams of dreams come true.

Nora,
This is amazing. I was waiting to see what you had up your sleeve and this is exactly what I expected. Absolutely heart breaking and bittersweet, but beautiful nonetheless. Thank you for posting so often. We all enjoy your writes. The more the better. :) This was great.

Gorgeous. Whether for shame or not, I do identify with this piece.

And daily limit or not, you will never post too much by my standards.

Keep writing,

Oh, Nora - well done! I could simply read the last line over and over and over and.... The entire piece is extravagent and this last line wraps it up so beautifully.

Apologies entirely unnecessary, friend! Silly you!

Happily besieged by your poetry,
SNM

A sharp, wistful, vivid image. Beautiful as ever.
May the sudden bright vista that appears when we get around some of the twists of youth be visible to you soon...

Ahhh yes I get it now. :D *feels smart* Man, that's a lot of big words to describe one short moment/image. lol. I guess that's the beauty of poetry. Other people would say... "she cried." Lmao... but, on a serious note, I really do relate to the beginning of this. Not 100%, but in my own way, I do. Such a sad ending... yet somehow desireable, from where I'm sitting.

Love it. :)
