"WHAT IS LIFE ABOUT?"
About keeping score, life is not!
Nor is it about all the friends you've got!
Or how accepted by them you are.
Not about the plans you have this weekend,
or if you're home alone with your guitar.
It's not about who you are dating,
Who you used to date, or how many you've dated, bragging.
Or, if you haven't been with anyone at all.
It isn't about how many you kissed do you recall?
Life is definitely not about sex!
It isn't about who your family is, or how they reflect.
If money they have, it's not about that either.
What kind of car you drive is not the answer neither.
Schools you were sent off to attend?
It's certainly not how beautiful or ugly you are my friend!
It's not about the clothes you wear, or even your shoes!
Not the music you listen to, classical or blues!
Blonde, red, black or brown, your hair color?
Matters not your skin color, light or darker.
It's not about your grades, how smart you are.
How smart everyone thinks you are, or even
if tests say you are a "WordStar!"
What clubs you belong to, doesn't count.
How well you can play a sport or the amount?
On a piece of paper representing yourself, it is not!
Just to see who will accept the written you, somewhat!
Then I ask you, "What is life all about?"
Life is about "Heart Damage," or "Heart Repair!"
Life is about who you make happy, or unhappy.
purposefully, no doubt!
It's about betraying their trust, or keeping their welfare!
Friendship's about using it as a sanctity or a weapon.
About starting rumors and contributing to petty
gossip, spirits dampen!
It's all about the judgments you pass and why?
And, who your judgments are spread to, before you die!
It isn't about who you ignored intentionally to control.
Jealousy, fear, ignorance, and revenge...to hurt another soul!
Carrying inner hate and love, allowing it to grow, to spread.
But, most of all it's about using your life to be kind to others,
To touch a person's heart with love or damage it
to the point of tears!
We, and only we can make that choice, as to how we
affect another's heart.
And, the choices we make are what life's all about....
until we depart!
