September

It is September again and the days have flown so fast
Four years ago our angel arrived memories that last
Sad windy hours and bright sunny days all gone astray
In my mind I still remember when you came our way
You captured and stilled my heart when I first saw you
My first grand daughter here despite having chances few
I still wonder at your small size and your great courage still
And to my last day here I will love you and always will.
When you had to leave us and fly home to be an Angel
My heart wished that I could have gone with you as well.
But here I stay always holding you in my heart my love
One day I will be able to hold you close in heaven above

aww this is so sweet..
I love the flow because it sounds very natural
and in no way forced.
Also, I liked the use of rhyme.
Very vivid imagery is presented here.
You have portrayed your message well, my friend.
Brilliant poem!
and welcome to YPDC!!!
