When the land was new
And hope was fresh and bright
There lived a lonely, lovely prince
Searching for what’s right
I was in a distant land
Pondering the same
Problems that had plagued him
And hung his head in shame
He found a beautiful princess
Soon to be his queen
He was rounding thirty-two
While she was just nineteen
I watched from afar and smiled
As a tear rolled down my cheek
I wanted to congratulate
But I was much too weak
Years passed and they were happy
As were the kingdom too
Everyone was joyous
Except for you-know-who
I died alone and lonely
And no one cared a bit
I thought of that young princess
As my castle fire lit
