Tomorrow

Topic: goodbyepoetry

It’s been awhile since you’ve been gone
Since you disappeared from my life
But you are still so much with me in my head and heart
I still to this day cry over you
I cry over things remembered
A familiar song, a familiar road
Or even a small reminder of something we once shared
I have so many unanswered questions that are keeping me from letting you go
So many things I never told you and have been left unspoken
I never told you how much I cared
I never told you I loved you
I never told you how you captivated and shattered my heart
I’m still dwelling on the past, trying to stay stuck in the moment
But why?
Why am I holding on so tight to you and our memories?
Why am I keeping myself from the happiness I deserve?
I deserve better than pain and tears
You don’t deserve me or my love if you will treat me like this
I deserve to be happy with someone who will love me the right way
I just need to take that step
Small steps away from you and our past
Baby steps to a new, happier future for me
A future without you
Without the pain in my heart
Without all these unwanted tears
Little steps to a happier life
So I’m going to leave our memories here, right now
Bury then away in my subconscious where they can no longer burden and hurt me
This is where it ends
I will force myself to move on with my life with you no longer there
What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger
You may have hurt me badly
But I survived!
And I will get through this eventually
I will have my happiness back soon enough
No more pain
No more tears
No more you
Tomorrow is the beginning
To a new start
To a new life
Tomorrow…

You tell 'em. Good Luck. Good poem.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
