Yours Truly, Eulogy

Underneath this ceiling falling down on me
I scribble the words that describe how I’m feeling
I am failure’s lesser twin, his face still defeating mine
How do I manage this time?
Even the butterflies in my stomach flap their wings
… A little off beat
Is this how I choose to be?
And I never did tell you how sorry I am
How worried I am
Will this be the last?
I’ve already removed my face
From every photograph
I shall be the still frame upon stone, engraved
“Life never did choose me”
I’ll be sure to dress my best for that evening
Seems like a waste considering
I have nowhere to go, but down

Pretty powerful. The line "I am failure's lesser twin, his face still defeating mine" drew me in.
Good write...
