unthinkable love

Somehow i've managed to
Look passed my damaged youth
I ate a piece of the tasty sky
Made the sun close its cycloptic eye.
I’ve done the unthinkable without thinking
Stared down love without blinking
I kissed my own reflection in an ocean
I danced with the grace of poetry’s motion
I jumped into fire and I didn’t burn
I taught myself with simplicity learned
Gambled with love and lost the bet
The unthinkable: it doesn’t hurt yet.

Nicely paced, smoothly rhymed, I love the message. |
