Dust off the impurities that keep you locked in that confessional
Don’t feel bad for yourself because you have me to do that for you
A silent sinner lay to waste in dark corners
The one who’ll burn forever fictitious
Twenty two years of ember-like memory
Burning their little holes inside of me
And I still don’t believe
I’ve learned to base my life around children’s fairytales
Not far from your owner’s manual
So as your hero’s walk on water
Somewhere there’s a wolf dressed like my grandmother
And as your daughter grows old enough to wear red
I’ll be the one in sheep’s clothing
Desensitized to your beliefs

I liked your poem. I agree that 'relligion' has been presented poorly, it does seem silly and cold. For me, God is just love, and is within me. It's in the way I live, not some building or book. Great job. |

i do not believe the bible myself but that insult of calling everyone that believes in it an idiot is a little uncalled for. but other than that excellent poem. |
