Materialism

Materialism

The river is stagnant suddenly to my eyes,
Its resplendent cripples have froze
In midst air.

I saunter with curiosity, averting
The warnings stapled in
The wind;
It’s woeful echoes I have learnt by time to
Ignore, though they will perpetually continue to
Ring in my ears.

It is within this river I have soaked my
Red palms, and let the water kiss the
Crimson dreary.
This river.

The vista is not tangible, as it seems.
I am walking, but not closing any nearer
To the river;
Its material has stopped before time.
Curtailed.

Once a mellifluous, blue carpet covered the
Furtive aquarium underneath,
Where the little fish slept dreaming under the
Moonbeam of a martyr:
The material sheath.

And the river is still. It does not flow.

-Thivanka

You use very good words. But do you mean the stillness of river counter to the clamor and the dreadful in material world. Howevere World have abstractions on fears but also warm loves and hot kisses--by cauchy3
