inward eulogy

tendrils of frost
creep in 'round the edges
invading in silence
and spreading like madness
slivers of ice
in my pincushion heart
becoming a nail bomb
as it tears itself apart
(shards of numb winter
splinter through me
and the numb isn't so bad
once you forget the loss)
like a bird
or an ash
i'm flying from here
lost all that once kept me
and now i disappear

Awesome write! I love the last stanza! Very nicely done.... I think I'm going to need to read some more of your work! Yes, definitely.

very succinct Roy, but the brevity of your poem does not take away from the over feeling of the poem... in fact I think it adds to it. Loved the images my friend.

Beautiful and very poignant words and extraordinary imagery.
Needs reflection and re-reading.
Beautifully penned Emy-stary!
Thanks for sharing this with us.
Love and peace
