A Dream Shared

A dream was shared of green valleys and hills,
potted pretty flowers on white window sills.
Sandy beaches, waves that rose high,
a look of love in a partner's eye.
The distance was short, as dreams usually are,
time doesn't matter when looking at stars.
When hands were held, even in thin air
the sensation was felt, because they did care.
The dream didn't vanish, the song was still sweet,
though both knew for certain, they'd never meet.
Life moved on, and yet the dream stayed alive.
As each found a way, to help the other survive.
Somewhere in a valley, or on top of a hill
each see's the other and memories spill,
of laughter, and love... fondness of heart,
the dream will not leave, they never part.
