He was perfect for me

Contributed by ceci on Wednesday, 23rd June 2004 @ 12:30:54 PM in AEST
Topic: goodbyepoetry

I feel more lonely than ever
I thought I had it all
But I lost everything forever
I thought if I would stop talking to him
for a little while,
just a little
He would love me even more
But I was wrong
I know sometimes I can be selfish
Actually,
Almost all the time
I said I was happy for him
When I heard him say
"I found someone"
I thought my heart would be broken
but it didn't
it was my self-esteem that did

Even though I'm familiar with loneliness
This time I felt it deeper
Not knowing who to love
To care about
Drives me, sometimes, crazy
Thinking that I'll be lonely forever
makes me think that there's no time
to reject more boys
than I already had

It's cause I can't find the perfect one
and when sometimes I do
they don't think I’m the one
or they simply break my heart

He was perfect for me
but now he is perfect for her
even though she seems like a nice girl
I’m not gonna forget
she took him away from me

Spending lonely nights writing
while you are dreaming about her
reminds me that
you had dreams about me
just like I did about you
I don't know how to finish this chapter
I think I'll just leave it floating there
and let the time
to blew it with the wind
