My Own Private War

Each day I smile
I laugh when you want me to
I'm silent when I'm supposed to be
I'm happy on the surface
So you never suspect
That inside it's different
Inside I'm fighting
My own private war
I fight hard
I fight smart
I fight with spirit
And I fight with vigour
But it's never enough
My battles are lost
My troops defreated
So I surrender
Surrender to the popular girls
And the false promises
Surrender to the plastic personalities
And the fake smiles
Only to start the cycle again
Of starting, fighting, and losing
My own private war

This is one of the best poems I've read so far, on this web site!!!!!!! I love your use of metaphors! And I can relate to the point you are trying to make! Keep up the good work!
