Edge of Goodbye

I’m standing on the edge of goodbye
And I’m terrified of being alone
I’ve been here a thousand times before
Not once stopping to question why

Each time it gets a little easier on me
And the tears they no longer fall
I guess my heart is just used to it all
And refuses to once again feel empty

Feelings surge through me and leave just as fast
I’m on this journey that won’t end
A new love of the minute just around the bend
Alas like all the others it won’t last

I’ve been burned so many times now
And I’m the only one there is to blame
I have no regrets and I have no shame
But I want it to end…the only question is how?
