What if it was really true?
Did you mean what you said?
Was it what you really meant?
Or just a thought instead?
Would it change our everything?
And did you think this through?
If E.P.T. said positive
That’s what you’d want to do?
You’d want me back, to live with you
To make us work things out
To find a way to make us right
Would that change all your doubt?
If that is true, than listen close
I promise, I’d Be There
I couldn’t ask for any more
God gave me my last prayer.
I’d love to share that life with you
Our own daughter or our son
A child created with our love
Could never be undone.
That would fulfill my fantasy
And it would be so good
The doctor would reverse the scars
My love, I wish we could.
But life can be so cruel and cold
And sometimes so unfair
And even if we can’t conceive
I promise, I’d Be There.
I know it nearly was a joke
But I still felt that pride
To be a father to your child
I could have almost cried.
I wish that we could have that chance
And on my life, I swear
Without, or with our child inside
Please know, that I’d Be There.

What a beautiful sentiment. Good luck and she's lucky to have you. |
