Driving fast
On a highway cold and bare
We speed past worn out scenery
Empty houses
Deserted restaurants
Neon signs dimly lighting alien surroundings
You sit in the front seat
Talking of death
Life after death
I try to pay attention
Try to comprehend
But my own confused thoughts
Keep swirling around
I want to think
But my head is burdened
All these thoughts
These hopes
These dreams
All these memories
Speeding fast into darkness
I don’t know where we’re going
I don’t know where we came from
