Her Head In Her Arms

Contributed by WorthlesSanity666 on Tuesday, 22nd June 2004 @ 03:08:35 PM in AEST
Topic: Grief

Alone in the corner,
no one knows why.
She sits with her
head in her arms and
cries and cries.
She can't take it anymore.
There's so much
heroin in her cut up veins,
she can't keep up
with rent.
Her hair needs cleaning,
but no one notices.
Dressed in black
from head to toe,
her skin contrastingly
white.
Her sickly face with its
sunken in eyes
stands out against her
jet black hair.
No one loves her,
she's all alone in
a one room apartment
where she lies at night,
wishing to die.
She's gone past
screaming, yelling, and crying.
She just numbs it all with drugs and pain.
Her dad kicked her out
at age thirteen,
to face the streets alone,
but not before he
raped and beat her.
Met the wrong people,
saw the wrong things.
People told her she was nothing.
She tried to earn money
the best way she could,
she learned to
ignore the faces.
Bruised and broken,
she sits and wonders
why she's still here.
She just hopes she makes it
till her dealer gets here.

Hey, I liked this one. Great imagery. Really makes you think coz stuff like this is happening everywhere. It sounded like it came straight from the heart and you could really see the poor girl. Great writing xx

P.s. You want to see my poems? Sorry for asking but I LOVE comments.

wow I think this is seriously the most emotional poem I have ever read. I don't know what to say except almost every line blew me away and the imagery in this poem was exceptional.
