The old folks told me love is great
To me, love is only a mistake
I am fine not knowing what they mean
To me, I love just being green
Old folks say that love is comforting
I just say that I am smothering
They always speak nicely of it
So nicely, that it makes me sick
Young folks ask me if love is real
Don't worry, you'll know the deal
Love can make you terribly meak
I know, I almost fell real weak
The young in love don't eat, or sleep
I somehow love the task of counting sheep
Their always thinking of getting tied
Why don't they do more with their lives
Don't listen to what old folks may say
Knowing love just gets in the way
