Midnight comes and still I wait.
Among the stars I see your face,
Wrapped within a gentle lace.
Waiting here outside your gate.
Something in your eyes took hold.
When we met my heart took flight,
Once so dark now filled with light.
In the night no more I’m cold.
With a touch you set me free.
Love was never what I sought,
Love is what the end has brought.
Was there nothing more to be?
In this world of shallow ghosts;
All the paint disguising lust,
All the lies destroying trust.
To your love I make this toast.
Come to me forever more.
Teach me love so I may live,
Take from me all I can give.
Wrap yourself within my core.
For the night it must soon end.
Mornings gold will touch our dreams,
Threads so pure to seal the seams.
Leaving you for me to tend.
Tell me true that we’re now one.
All I want is to be true,
All I need’s the touch of you.
Gently like the leaf and sun.
Here I’ll wait till you return.
Once again to hold my heart,
Never more will we two part.
Never quenched my fires burn.
