It's a moral obligation
a choice it is no more
it gives me no more pleasure
like it did before
I do it when I need to
to continue to feel fine
and to ensure others
that it was always mine
I’ve always had the talent
hidden deep inside
but what brought it to the surface
is when my true love died
I’ll never feel that joy
that I felt in years gone past
in one slow and lonely moment
life goes by so fast
so this is just a reminder
to others and to me
that even though I’m captured
it makes me feel free
