She Wants

Contributed by heddermarie on Monday, 21st June 2004 @ 01:26:47 PM in AEST
Topic: StoryPoetry

She wants so much to be happy,
But is afraid she never will,
Her heart refuses to be broken again,
So she’s set it away up on a shelf.

She’s too scared to take it down this time,
What might happen frightens her,
She doesn't want to fall again,
It all ending in a spiral downward.

She hates to think about the first time,
Because he made her look like a fool,
She held onto something that wasn't real,
A love in the end that just wasn't true.

In the present now she has someone,
Someone that believes in 'them',
But she is in a different frame of mind,
To him she won't let her heart bend.

She wants so much to believe,
The tears burn her eyes,
But how can she believe what he says,
When someone else told her those same things as lies.

She believes now that the negative things she says,
Are ways of shielding the truth,
That she truly might be falling,
Her the arrow has already been shoot.

She wants so much to know the feeling,
Of being in love without strings,
But the first time that was ever felt,
Hurt was all it did bring.

She wants so much,
For him to understand,
That she lost too much of herself before,
That she just cannot take his hand.

She believes this frame of mind,
Is set in a unrealistic place,
And now she’s worried about reality,
That in truth her heart is madly in love with his face.

She wants so much to see,
That he is not like him,
Not the person who hurt her before,
They are on opposite sides of the spectrum.

She afraid she cannot live without him,
But what her head is telling her is tearing her apart,
She’s afraid he'll find someone else,
Again someone will break her heart.

But this is what she keeps doing,
Say things that are negative and untrue,
In hopes that he will leave,
For reasons of not letting him in she'll have an excuse.

It's a way of protecting herself,
From his future plans,
She always dissuades them,
Causing him to cry in frustration in his hands.

She wants so much not to hurt him,
But she so afraid!
In the end these are the lessons of life,
And the risks when you play to game.

She wants so much to be happy,
But is afraid she never will,
She knows now that she's helplessly fallen,
And in the end her heart might be broken still.

This sounds a lot like me...I am too afraid to love again...but I think i might have to because love is to strong to overpower...maybe that girl will see that...Love is a good thing once you have ahold of it and its meant to be...you have to keep giving it a chance dont open your heart up all the way unless your sure...beautiful write however lots of feeling and emotion tells a perfectly told story...

keep it up keep it coming

read and comment my stuff if you want Id love to hear what you think

much love,
Dani

This is something that I can relate to. It's very nice, Heather. Good Luck.
