Can't Explain It

Contributed by ceci on Monday, 21st June 2004 @ 11:27:15 AM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

I thought I would never be able to do this
Thinking that a best friend wouldn’t be able to do such a thing
Like loving the guy that your best friend loves
And not be able to say anything to him
Or to her
Listening to the things that makes you the perfect boy
How cute and interesting you are
And falling in love with the things they say about you

What can I do when the two of us love you?
When all I hear is about you
When I try to forget you
But every time I’m near you
My heart is on fire
Just like my friend’s is

Sometimes I think is that there’s no one else to love
And that’s why I’m into you
I can’t really explain this feeling
I can’t really explain her what’s the taboo
I try to pretend I like someone else
And that I see him as a brother
Not a lover
And he says he sees me as a sister
But his eyes tell me they don’t
His hands tell me he doesn’t
Words tell me he wants me
His heart and mine
Know they belong to each other
But our heads know they don’t

Such things make the friendship stronger as we look the other way, and know in our hearts, the friendship is more than a lark and a loss.

Excellent write. Thank you.
