Away From Here

Contributed by blueheart on Monday, 21st June 2004 @ 09:37:48 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

The constant frown on my hardened face,
The effect of living years in such a place,
Accumulative anger and surpressed aches,
Surviving each day with empty grace.

My strength endures as seasons slip by,
When wings are clipped how can I fly?
Sealed in this tomb with immense hate,
Where is the hope I will escape?

Longing to race away from here,
To leave this space of darkened fear,
The freedom to embark on a new life,
To find happiness that will discard my strife.

My blackened life a part of me,
Through blemished eyes how do I see?
To find euphoria that'll be my cure,
Quickly I must turn away from here.

I enjoyed this - I think we all wish to turn away from things sometimes, however most often, the trouble follows you in one form or another -

thanks for making me think -

I know all too well this feeling you are intoning upon this here write. How those words sings familiar to my wishes too. To extricate myself from my current dilemmas and fly away to a distant place. Alas I at least find that it is impossible to fly away...absolutely...you can run for awhile but as Churchill puts it, it is better to face your travails now rather then let it gnaw at you and come clawing at you in some future time unlooked for. Oh well..anyhow.. nice write here. I can really feel your melancholia from the words set in. Very nicely done.

"in the deepest of caverns there are algae that shines unbidden, in the depths of dark oceans there are planktons that glow, in the vastness of space a distant star will always somewhere shines, in the darkest hours of your life look to those glimmers that you will ultimately find...and remember that hope ofts follow behind..."
