you weren't there the day I died

Contributed by Living_In_My_Dream on Sunday, 20th June 2004 @ 10:07:54 PM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

Do you really know me,
Or do you just pretend?
Spend a day in my shoes,
And see how well it goes.

No one truly sees me,
For who I really am.
No one understands me,
But yet you think you can.

I don't think you know me,
Or the past I hide inside.
Everything had shunned me,
And I thought I'd rather die.

My life is now in ruins
Because you said you cared,
And you think you really knew me,
For who I was before?

I used to be myself,
Then got poured into a mold,
And was forced to be like them,
Although it wasn't me.

I don't think you've known me,
For all the years you've seen.
You forced me to conform,
And said I had to be like them.

Now you want to see me,
For who I really am?
Now it's too late'
You've lost your chance.

I'm hiding who I am,
Because no one could see.
Now the time has passed
For me to just be me.

Now you want to know me?
It's still too late for you
Now you can't ever know me,
Cause you weren't there the day I died.

another great piece. I know the feeling of always hiding but sometimes its better to just let you really show. A++++
