Wings (Part II)

Contributed by Silent-No-More on Sunday, 20th June 2004 @ 06:55:32 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

I’m not as strong as I once thought
My promise, darling, is all for naught
I’ve struggled and was wounded some
With broken wing, to you I come
I have to know, forever true
With damaged wings what will we do?

Freedom has never been our friend
But Oh! Don’t let it be the end
We must find a way to continue on
I cannot accept that hope is gone
I only know this, forever true
With or without wings, I still want you

Listen now and you’ll hear my cries
I’m falling from a darkened sky
You are already there on the ground
There an answer will be found
I need to know, forever true
Can you be strong enough for two?

This is a great poem. 2 wounded birds falling in love like two wounded hearts grasping for each other.

WOW. *jaw drops*

I love this one. IloveitIloveitIloveit. Certainly my favorite one from you so far, and rivalling Stitch's 'SLITHERING' for the best poem I've read today. I just can't get over how amazing this one is . . . beautiful rhyme and flow, wonderful meaning, skillfully written.

"With damaged wings what will we do?"
"Can you be strong enough for two?"

Wow, wow, and wow . . . this is great. I can't wait till I get to your first Wings.

I honestly read this several times, Snemmers. I really like it, but my thoughts have been so severely scattered tonight it was difficult for me to gather them. So, now they've all settled in a place where I seem to be able to pick some up and finally post my comment. Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting [photobucket.com] One of the things I really really liked about this was imagery, Snem, imagery. I really like love poems anyway so yeah, love the emotions, but, yes, the imagery at least for me is great!
