APE-PARENTLY HUMAN
Hands mishandle sticks,
Were my eyes merrymaking tricks?
Black to white, white to black,
It was almost if I had the knack.
Frivolous grin, brazen smile,
Sticks placed in neat agglomeration,
Thoughts now in primate propulsion.
White to black, black to white,
It was almost as if I had second site.
Cog wheels turning brain matter around,
Twigs sharpened rumination unwound.
Smell of success I almost walk,
Gibberish prattles or was it talk.
Heart pounding in a ponderous beat,
Was white skin forming or just the heat?
Did I have an invisible presence within?
Beating my chest ripples underlet my skin.
I rose and looked at the sky all in one drift,
Evolutions wheel is such a momentous gift.
