Let me share a little thing, about this silly old man
It's something I keep from all, but sure some will understand
To start with some of these lines, may not fit together
Tho I have written this poem, it doesn’t rhyme to the letter
In real life I am a loner, mostly sitting on my own
Tho you wouldn’t know, from on the net or the phone
In person, I am no good with words, to ones I do not know
And to single ladies, I must seem so very slow
If I come to like you, and wish you a ‘close’ friend
Getting this started, would need to come from your end
Body language I never learnt, so if you like me too
I must say I’m sorry, for I wouldn’t have a clue
As for the little things, that could start a relationship
I guess I must be backward, as for me it is like this
To start and form a kiss, there must be some love there
And if it goes further, our lives we would want to share
My heart isn’t that strong, and has been hurt in the past
So any future love, would be taken slow to ensure it lasts
Please don’t misunderstand, when I find the right lass
To my heart, body, soul and mind, she has an open pass.

It is as it should be. Take your time, you will find her. I wish you the best of luck in your endeavor. She has to be for you and the children. That will be a difficult order to fill? I hope not. It is hard being alone.

Don't worry. One of these days...
(I leave the ... because I don't know what the future holds! But trust me, it will be good. I just know somehow.)
But that's what being a person of character is all about. Don't think you need to play the game - I detest the game - the best women don't play it either.

Very heartfelt and honest. So what if you're a loner? Take your time and the right person will come along. You don't have to rush in and out of relationships to find the right person. And, bully for you that you're not a "player", makes you a much more sincere person. My gram always told me that there is someone out there for you and you will find them. It will happen! Slow and steady wins the race! lol Have faith! Peace and happiness to you, Mick, for you are a good person!
