If I hold my breath,
Will you pretend not to see?
If I hold my breath,
Will it be easier to breathe?
If I close my eyes and bit my lip,
Will you make this go away?
If I get down on my scratched up knees,
Will you stay? Will you stay?
If I hold your hand in mine,
Just for one last time,
Would it give me peace of mind?
If I cover up these bruises,
And bandage all the scars
Will you tell me I am beautiful?
If I told you I have had enough,
Would you know that that's not true?
If you looked into my jet black eyes,
Would you see that they are blue?
If you knew what you have doen to me,
Would you still have known what to do?
And if you will not answer me,
Will you just give me one last truth?
If you had never given me up,
Would you still say that it's too soon?
