Losing You

Contributed by Colleen on Friday, 18th June 2004 @ 11:28:50 AM in AEST
Topic: FriendshipPoetry

I don't understand what I am feeling right now
It feels like we've broken the best friend vow
But we didn't even do anything, it's like we drifted apart
You have no idea what this has done to my heart

It's not even fair, we never fought
It's like some disease that we just caught
Sure we debated over facts, politics, and rights
But would you count those as fights?

I know you're feeling this distance too
There's no denying it, you know that it's true
It's like we got close just so you could push me away
I am aware of the fact that I am a changed person today

But I changed to better myself
You tried, but somewhere you got lost, so you've trapped yourself
You're putting on this whole show, and you always try to out do me
I don't care if you beat me, don't you see?

I wish I could turn back time to see where we went wrong
I thought our friendship would last so long
But you know that I can't go back
I can't fight this anymore, I am going to crack

I'm so confused, should this be the final goodbye?
Or do I still give you an occasional hi?
I feel so alone now, so confused and utterly lost
Look at what this gap between us will cost

I feel as alone as ever
But my love for you will never sever
You were once like a sister to me
Exactly how a best friend is suppose to be

I feel this,
i am going through the same thing myself.
Stay strong,
People pass, but we will find other people who are special to us.Sometimes people just fade away.
*hugs you*
I hope everything is right for you in the end.
Great poem, good flow.

I think everyone has been here at least once. It hurts like hell, I know. You expressed the turmoil of losing a friend very well. I loved reading it and even felt it a bit. But remember, some friends aren't forever, the important thing is some ARE.

I just want to cry. This was beautiful. Frienship really is a gift & something never to be taking for granted but like everything to keep it sweet we really must work at it. This poem is very endearing yet sad to but very well versed & very touching.
Lovely work & a very enjoable read.
