Nick Names

Contributed by Dusty on Friday, 18th June 2004 @ 12:27:59 AM in AEST
Topic: FriendshipPoetry

I really tried to call you,
By your given name one time,
But to call you something else,
Would just make it much less mine,
We both know why I chose it,
And I can't help but feel,
That to call you James or Mark or John,
Would make you much less real,
Please do not be angry,
I don't mean to offend,
I gave your nick name thoughtfully,
You'll be Barki to the end.

This poem actually made me laugh. I needed a laugh right now. Thank you for that. I haven't read many poems on here that did make me laugh.

This was a delightful little poem Dusty. I too found it very humorous! I'm wondering tho
why you would chose Barki for a nickname.
Bet there's a good reason!
Love it, it was clever and neat
