I Finally Know

Contributed by jishes_4_ever on Thursday, 17th June 2004 @ 04:20:44 PM in AEST
Topic: happypoetry

We're talking and everything seems so perfect.
If only I knew if he felt the same as me.
I love him but does he love me?
That is what I sit there wondering
As he's telling me what he did that day.

Will I ever know?
I want to tell him so bad
But I'm afraid I'll scare him away.
Our conversation comes to an end
And we're about to say good bye.

He doesn't want to get off the phone for some reason.
Says it would be much easier if he could just say it.
I hope he means what I think he means
But I'm not sure.
So I asked him what he wants to say

He thinks about it for a minute
And then he finally says it
I love you.
I smile but he can't see because we're on the phone.
I wish he could see how happy I am

I say I love you back to him
And then the conversation is over
He says it one more time
And I say it too.
Then it's over and I finally know

He does love me
Just like I love him.

This is wonderful. Love is always a poem, no matter what words are used. Enjoy it and cherish it.

Smiles,
Rita
