Take the winter
From my bones
Shield me from
The freezing of
This cold.
Smile at me
And I will melt
Right here in the
Safety of you arms.
Lead me anywhere
I can only follow
Where you go
And gladly there
To lie with you.
And while you cradle me gently
Til I succumb to the security
That parents me
As your baby
Lull me to sleep
With your heartbeat.
Watch me as I dream
Beneath your careful eye
Wrapped tight in reveries
Hold me like you won't
With morning's wake
Ever let me go.
Until we open our eyes
Sunday in sight
And have no choice
But to part.
Then we'll say goodbye
You with my heart
Me - a memory should I ever feel the cold
One single warming thought
Of the beauty of you
In my world.
