From An Ex-Cutter

Contributed by pixie on Thursday, 17th June 2004 @ 11:29:00 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Coming from an ex-cutter,
I know of the pain your poems utter,
Of how cutting gives you a release,
Makes you feel better and gives you peace.

Of how the sight of blood makes you feel,
And the pain inside is so unreal,
It is addictive once you begin,
To let the pain seep out from within.

You feel there is no other choice,
That the blade is your only voice,
No-one loves you& no-one cares,
Of all the hurt you have to bare.

Feelings of being alone haunt you,
Leaves you by yourself without a clue,
Of how you are meant to get through your pain,
You are driven to acts that are considered insane.

You just want this trauma to subside,
Something to stop the hurt inside,
Your only solace is in a blade,
And years of torment are left displayed.

Hey,.. great poem. I used to cut myself too, then recently i started to do it again.
What you said in the poem describes about why ppl cut, and those are some of the main reasons i do. Its great at explaining what its like to be a cutter

I loved this poem and I am glad that u have made this far without cutting. I am trying to stop myself and haven't cut in around a month, but before that it had been a few months. Once again I loved this and you captured the feelings so perfectly. Thnx for sharing this with us.
