AMERICA WITHOUT A FRIEND - REVISED

Contributed by steeleyes on Thursday, 17th June 2004 @ 06:39:07 AM in AEST
Topic: political

An exercise in ugliness
From beginning to end
Leaves America now
Without a friend

A few dumb clucks
Were found in charge
America attacked
The responsibility large

Totally inadequate
They panicked and flew
Into the arms of hawks
The damage just grew

Running in the wrong direction
They justified deceit
And laid the groundwork
For their own defeat

A sorrier crew
Would be hard to find
Stupid, misguided
And terminally blind

The deaths of thousands
Lie on their hands
These fools postured
Making demands

They lost the goodwill
All of us had felt
Toward America
As our hearts did melt

But these sorry men
In just one year
Lost all our support
And created fear

Instead of co-operation
We were willing to give
They spread only hatred
Making us grieve

For a just America
We thought might grow
But these foolish men
Simply could not know

What in the end
They would throw away
Losing all chance
Of a brighter day

They indulged in hatred
Such a message to send
And now have left America
Without a friend

All of your insights on America are very true. They could really open the eyes of most Americans that America really does suck. Well America itself is awesome, but it's goverment is horrible. Thanks for refreshing my hatred of Bush. It gives me my energy for the day!
