I want whats mine!

Contributed by purplestary on Wednesday, 16th June 2004 @ 06:16:44 PM in AEST
Topic: AngryPoetry

burried deep within this place
it's time to get out
time to take what is mine
my self esteme, my opinion

dad, you never wanted me
mom, you only tied me up
you both made me feel like ****
and you both stole so much away

I know i have a long way to go
but i know now that i can
i'm stealing my dignity back
and i'm shutting you both out of me

It's MY soul.
It's MY heart.
you can't break it anymore.
you can't hurt me again.

I'm older now
and i'm fighting back
give my life back to me!
you can't have it!

despite what you think,
believe it or not
i was never yours!
and now i'm saying how i feel

I'm telling you both
what i needed to say
years and years ago
It's mine! it's mine! it's mine!!!

there was a time
i could of shared
but forget you both!
it's far too late for that.

so this is me
i'm moving on
i'm taking my feelings back
i'm taking eyes back

i'm taking my ears back as well
i'm tired of being deaf
i'm taking my nose away from you
you both have one of your own

i'm packing my heart away in a box
and my soul is in a bag
i'm walking away from this
i'm digging myself out of this whole.

great write, very emotional. I know what its like to be at war with your parents - I'm in the same boat. My mother still treats me like I'm 5 and I'm sick of it *sigh* - still, great work! xx
