You Used To Tell Me
----------------------------
You used to tell me,
That the truth will set you free.
That an honest little boy,
Was the only way to be.
You used to tell me,
Every time I told a lied.
That God in the heavens,
Would look down and cry.
You used to tell me,
Have a heart made of gold.
That it would make all the difference,
Someday when I’m old.
You used to tell me,
To be a stand-up kind of guy
And never in my years,
Did I every question why.
You used to tell me,
And every word I did believe.
And now to my son,
The same wisdom I do leave.
