You Will Remember

Contributed by Dusty on Tuesday, 15th June 2004 @ 10:46:30 PM in AEST
Topic: dedicatedpoems

When I'm gone you'll notice.
You'll wake up and see,
That I was really someone,
You'll remember me,

I tried to give you all of me,
But you chose not to care,
I veiled my heart with jokes,
And you were unaware,

You saw someone tough,
You thought I was so strong,
But had you looked longer,
You'd have known that you were wrong,

I tried to keep it up,
I tried to play the part,
But you never knew me,
Never saw what's in my heart,

Now I have to go,
I'm sorry I can't stay,
I can't hang around here,
I can't go on this way,

Please don't think I blame you,
Because you didn't know,
It's not your fault, believe me,
I just never let it show,

You were always so busy,
I completely understand,
You never had the time,
To stop and take my hand,

Now that I'm gone you'll notice,
You'll wake up and see,
That I was really someone,
You'll remember me.....

A very good write. Unfortunatly some humans do not realise a good thing untill its gone, but hopefully they will learn a lesson & appreciate the next good thing when it comes along. Im sure you are appreciated by the ones that really count.
