Grief

Straddling the line of reality
Comprehension down to nothing
I realize I am no longer the king of my own world
The thrown sits vacant and lonely
Guided by forces unknown
To a future hiding behind a curve
I wander on endlessly
In hopes that the mists of confusion will lift from my eyes
Alone amongst thousands
Anticipating when I will snap
Never had to struggle so hard
Against an enemy so unknown
The Earth keeps turning
And the world moves on
Leaving me completely helpless
For I’m stuck in the days that have long gone by
Not knowing where to turn
Agony continues to consume
Do I run or do I hide
Where are the gates to the realm of happiness
As I sit and watch
Through the darkness of night
I happen to notice with a strained eye
The thrown still sits vacant and lonely
Up on a mountain
So very high
