Nighttime Visitors

Contributed by Silent-No-More on Tuesday, 15th June 2004 @ 12:33:37 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

Crisis lurks in the corner there
I am frozen, trapped by his stare
Now unable to communicate
For me, I know, it’s far too late

Crisis came on Panic’s back
He slipped in here in the black
I know others will be coming soon
Shuffling noises fill darkened room

They shove all the residents out
Confidence falls first in a futile bout
And Security, sadly, is right behind
As evil Frustration takes my mind

The smell of smoke fills the air
Trouble came and smolders there
Neglect creeps nearer to my bed
Tripping up Strength as he fled

The clamor grows to new heights
Trembling, I reach for the light
And when the shadows fall away
I find that Love, alone, has stayed

You're very good at characterising emotions. This is the second poem I've read from you which accomplishes it very well, and I'm sure there are virtually limitless poems to be had from an imaginative approach to such inspiration.

Enjoyable, once again . . .

Ooooh, nice . . . the personification of emotions, of concepts, really makes this one a very pleasurable poem to read. I like.
