She is trying to recapture
The girl that's been lost
The one who had self respect
She was held high
Above all the rest
She is there somewhere
Waiting to come out
She's on her way back
On that
You can count
There is a past
Which is gone forever
But a future
Which is still her own
As she sits and wonders
What tomorrow will bring

A wistful and poignant read. I like your variant rhyme (intentional/unintentional) as it keeps this piece interesting for me.
Thanks for writing. |
