1,000 reasons for blooming

Contributed by Avila on Monday, 14th June 2004 @ 09:38:45 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Life’s pace leaves me behind.
Things were different when I had you.
Not knowing if you will return, nothing
Is as hard as living without you.
Friends walk by the same way they did before,
They ask me how I'm doing and where I'm going.
If you hadn’t left I’d be happier now.
It’s hard to take a breath,
I can’t think. I can’t live life being cautious of
You’re every step.
Stop and think what can time teach me about time?
I can’t look at me and then at you.
I don’t write when I can or want anymore.
I lose my strength when my mouth goes off.
Looking to make you happy when your sky turns grey.
Because dreaming is no longer my nightmare,
Because I'm no longer number one.
Stop and think how bad you feel on the outside,
While I'm burning on the inside.
I can’t live life cautious of your every step,
Because with out you I’ll never recover.
Stop to think how you leave this heart in pieces
And that the wounds will never heal,
Maybe one day you will understand how I feel.
The memories that were shared by two are only remembered by one,
The good memories hurt me more now that you’re gone.
I've fallen back when the look in your eyes changed that night,
And you ended things without putting up a fight.
I couldn’t help myself when I got caught in your ways,
My skin felt different, my eyes saw nothing, and my mind drifted off.
Instead of words id speak with looks.Iv’e changed myself, you take
What I can’t have but want so bad.
I'm the only one, who knows every mark, line and curve of your face,
That my mind wishes to erase.
But you taught me how to love and cry
And that roses had more then 1000 reasons for blooming. Why is it wrong when
It feels too right?
So much to lose but so much more to gain.
But is it wrong when all I want to do is look into your eyes when you speak?
Knowing you’re the only one I seek.
Don’t you see how I’ve tried to get around you?
But you’re words are the only one’s that show me meanings.
I’m drowning in your presence and it’s too hard to reach a top.
You taught me different ways of lying,
And that things will never fix themselves by crying.
Is it wrong when all I want is you? When the love I feel for you is too good
To be true?

Wow, this poem is really great! Only, I don't like the fact that your mother tried to stop you from seeing the guy, I think love is love no matter what at any age. Great piece!

great poem.

So I'm sure this isn't what you want to hear, but listen to moms.
My mom kept me from a boy he was 21-22, I was 16-17.
We spent 8 years apart growing, going to college, whatever. Now, a second chance, a real chance. He's better than ever and so am I. It may work this time.
moms are smarter- read "girls like me"- its not mine, but you may find strength in her words.
