I've taken a lot of ****** today, nothing I do is ever right
So I pick up my razor and start my painful art
But by now you know me so well, so I guess you've figured me out
You know why I do the things I do?
It's because of people who are just like you
telling me I'm not pretty or smart
Acting as though I don't have a heart
Well, you've just hurt me, even though I won't tell you in my words
Instead, my scars will speak to you
Tell you the real story of my life
Tell you the abuse and torment I've tried to hide from
So, you think you know me inside and out?
Guess again, it's the people like you who will never figure me out

so true. i dont think its possible for someone to truely ever know someone, not even twins. because people react different and feel different to everything. but there will always be someone in your life that thinks they know you or know whats right for you. |

powerful words as a backlash of hurt
i like the question which u answer urself in ur poem...
however, in terms of rhyme, try using different words...don't rhyme "out" with "out" =)
ooh and maybe it'd be cool to use the word "silence" or "silent" in there, since you're not telling people out loud ur feelings..."silent scars", hmm? :) ooh alliteration ;) |
