Upon the back of Scourge

Contributed by Ethereal_Engine on Monday, 14th June 2004 @ 05:41:46 PM in AEST
Topic: fantasy

A Black Dragon carrying a young warrior girl named Black Rose, travels across an annihilated world that her and the dragon created, but once all was wrecked she felt guilt and sadness for what she did and left the dragon for awhile to wander the planet attempting consolation to the survivors, who don’t know that the world they live in was crafted by the woman that stands before them. She soon finds that these few left living are just as destructive, ignorant, selfish, and evil as they were before the world ended. This angers Black Rose beyond anything she felt before. The rage is only fed further by her previous guilt, "to think that I felt bad for these people, who maim each other for sheer enjoyment, who wreak havoc beyond what was already done, who destroy the last remnants of peace and continue to wage war with one another, this was suppose to teach them a lesson, to bring them together, to make them realize they need to change, but no, they'll never change, and for that they don’t deserve to have the precious life that they were given" and with that thought she returns to the dragon with rekindled anger and travels the planet on the back of the Black Dragon systematically wiping out all humans that are left standing.

Hmn. How was the world destroyed in the first place? Why was the Black Rose feeling Guilty? Did she annihilate the world she'd created? Whom gave the Black Rose life? Did she have to answer to her creator also?

These are the questions you leave me (the reader) asking. I found this an interesting read, obviously, but one which I found morally amputated.

Keep writing.

Funny, my point of view in the poem that I wrote that inspired you to do this.....
1. The Black Rose is the Creation.
2. The Black Dragon carries on the power of what is peace in the world.
3. The Black Days are the Destruction.

It seemed alot of people were very critical of your poem. nice, but critical. in my opinion, which isn't much, i found it as a metaphor. the first thing i thought of was the present day USA..... talk about self-degradation and self-destruction. I ove your writes. peace and love, Dane
